My earliest known Lowry ancestor is Peter Lowry, Sr. He was born about 1740, possibly in Augusta County, Virginia, although another source claims he was born in Scotland. At present his wife's name is unknown. Peter Lowry, Sr. died in 1799 in Rockbrdige County, Virginia.
