This is one of only about 3 photos I have of my grandparents, both of whom were dead before I was born. It is my favorite photograph of them. By what turns out to be an imazing coincidence, my grandmother Nell died in a hospital near where I live in Long Beach, the Seaside Hospital. She lived her last few years with her sons in Los Angeles. When she became very ill she was hospitalized here in Long Beach, the city I would move to and make my home some 30 years later!
